probably, Ramadon is a smart way to feel sympathy for poor people and being grateful for having food and shelter.
otherwise, I don't know how to think about it .

i LLLLLLLOVE the holy month of Ramadhan.... i enjoy fasting... maybe coz im not the kind the really eat much during the day... coz i sorta feel guilty that we always waste more food than we should....
and i like that people are more truthful in the holy month... yes some do lie at night... some even during the day...
but still its way less and more innocent and peaceful.... at least for us...
may Allah the almighty bring peace and mercy upon those unfortunate... living in wars, poverty... etc. and God helps us all.

This is something that i don't really get that people usually say... fasting is a way to feel sympathy... and when they break their fasting its like nothing changed... like those little hours of fast did something to help... if people don't really try to help those less fortunate than they shouldn't pretend to feel sympathetic at all...some may say that its sorta like a moral support, but moral support should be there voluntarily not when you're told so.

The arab Muslim are the worst Muslim to feel the true meaning of Ramadan ...

    Current ideas:
1- it is the month of foods and buying new kitchen set!!
2- the month of staying late till moRning watching tv or playing football or doing whatever thing to pass the night .
    3- monTh of sleeping .
4- monTh of being lazy and excused not to do their works as they are tired.
    5- monTh of shopping offers

The month of Ramadan is meaningless for most of the people ...sadly

at least it is sort helping me to keep track of the days and do fast. it is my own experience and the action reveals in top of that, i had failed to fast the whole month for the last four years.

    Oh my man!

We've already started summer classes and it will be during the Ramadon too.

    Yoo , to be honest!
    your descriptions are killing me.
And, the reality will say to "yeah folks! what a very relaxing month"

and Zero spiritual meaning in the day of the Eid

there's some good in the world you know...
that's not the case of most people... and you can never know what's behind the closed doors...
and don't complain about Arab Muslims.... half of them are suffering in wars and unstable ruling systems....
yes i do agree that lots of people tend to worry about looks and materials with the least effort required to do so... but isn't that sorta what happens when humanity develops... everything becomes so easy to do that we don't feel the beauty of accomplishing anything...

we say what we see and feel in our own environments and rarely step out of our shoe to fill someone else's....

@gaoad why are you so pessimistic about it... it really is fun... you just gotta try to enjoy it instead of being gloomy and negative...

i guess you live abroad... that could be the reason...

the thing is we used to sing for the arab world and the freedom of its people and how proud that we are one...
and the more time passes by the more disconnected we become...
and Palestine has been like this since ever i could remember...

couple of days back i was going through the paper and i saw something about some kid died there...
i remembered Mohammed Durra... and how the arab world reacted to his death... how he may his soul rest in peace, was in every channel, in all the news and songs, and we used to draw him at school.... his death really moved our hearts, but nowadays kids die and we dont even look at it anymore...

@gaoad i could help in that,
i didnt really care about religious practices before... but i grew over that...
im not the most religious person in the world.... i still go crazy and stuff...
but i try to be committed under my own will... with an open heart... not coz i have to... but coz i really want to...

and that's really important thing in life, not just in religious practices.

i think as we are in the new era. There is very positive signs we are moving to create a unique culture of the world.
most people would love to know others and others would love to know them. and we see the diversified cities are well-known a worldwide such Dubai and China when they have opened their doors to foreigns to attract a lot of tourism and so it helped to boost its economic. And, Oman too

would this new era stop wars? stop poverty? stop manipulation of power? stops global warming? helps the environment?
the more open we are, the more selfish and self centered we become...

i really do miss those times when we were human beings.... not killing the earth and each other...

and that's really important thing in life, not just in religious practices.
you just have to follow your heart but NEVER shut off your mind
    thanks for passing the suggestions!

i am embarrassed when i come home and my mom see me praying at home instead of going to Masijed.
prayers are now important for me there were more than 8 months i haven't not prayed and that time i was so pissed about some personal issue i was dealing with. and i felt god is not helping me and it made the issue worst till one day i decided even though i am struggling mentally i will do pray. yes, it helps me when i took the action by myself no one jeopardize me .
